1.30.19 Featured Foster January Edition

Meet Lisa!

Kala
Who was your first foster?

My first rescue with MN Pit Bull was Kala.  She was a cute little brindle girl.

Who is your current foster?

I am currently fostering Aris

Why did you start volunteering?

Simply, I am a sucker for dogs.  I love that feeling of doing something good for them.  I love meeting new people and seeing the joy in them when they find their new fur baby.  Also, I just love that pitty face.

Aris

How long have you been volunteering with our rescue?

This is only my second foster through MN Pit Bull.

Do you have any pets?

Yes, I have two dogs, Jessie and Henry, and two cats, Smokey and Rosie.  And now we just added Aris to our family, so now I have three dogs…oh my!!!

Where is your favorite dog friendly place to take your pooches?

Chuck and Don’s.  There is always someone who will love up the dogs.  And they always have good treats.

When not surrounded by dogs – what can you be found doing?

I’m a teacher and a parent, so if I’m not with dogs, then I’m with kids.  I love to go to the movies with friends. I love a good walk, but of course my dogs are with me.

Do you have a favorite memory with one of your fosters?

Waking up in the morning and seeing Aris’s cute, happy little face coming to give me morning kisses is the best.

BarkBox is a subscription service that is awesome for you dogs! You get toys & treats delivered right to your door every month!

Each month one of our foster pawrents receives a BarkBox as a thank you. This is our small way of showing appreciation for the dedication our volunteers have to this rescue. Minnesota Pit Bull Rescue is 100% volunteer based-no shelters here! Each dog we are able to save is because a foster is willing to open their home for us

January 28, 2019 | by Corey Lundgren (Bark Out Editor & Photographer)

Welcome to our Business Bark Out, Volume 4! Today we are featuring Bent Brewstillery located in Roseville, MN. They offer plenty of amazing beers and spirits and a great environment for the perfect night out.

Hugh
This past weekend they hosted one of our adoption events. Hugh, Mari, & Beau are big fans (see pictures below). Bent Brewstillery has hosted us in the past and every time it has been a great success! They are dog friendly year round, and in the warmer months they have a great patio for you and your furry family members (you'll notice the Sidewalk Dog stickers on the  entrance door which is always a great indicator for where you can bring your dog).  They also have food trucks on occasion- check out their calendar to catch your favorites  and maybe even try something new!

Welcome to our third annual Business Bark Out! This week we’re featuring Twin City Tees located in Saint Paul, MN. They offer screen printing, embroidery, promotional products, and signs.

Twin City Tees has hosted Minnesota Pit Bull Rescue in the past for an adoption event (anyone remember Perma’s puppies?!). During that event you could purchase a shirt, pick a design, and watch it get printed right then and there. If you’ve ever purchased some MPBR gear, chances are Twin City Tees made it! Thank you for supporting our Rescue, Twin City Tees!

Welcome to our second Business Barkout!! Today we’re featuring Wicked Wort Brewing. Located in Robbinsdale, Mn. Established in 2014 they use a 10 barrel system in their brewery that offers 10 beers on tap. During the warmer weather they have a wonderful dog friendly patio.

Wicked Wort hosted an adoption event this past weekend which allowed 5 of our adoptable dogs meet potential new families! Not only did they have delicious beers for everyone to enjoy, but they came around and checked in on our pups to make sure they all had plenty (of water) to drink! With street parking available in the front and a huge parking lot in the back, this brewery is easy to get to. If beer isn’t your thing, they still have plenty of options for you including live entertainment and events throughout the week (make sure to check their calendar), a pizza restaurant across the street that delivers to you & tons of fun games to play at the tables with your friends.

Hello everyone! In 2019 we’re starting out a new feature- shouting out companies that are Pit Bull friendly or have hosted/ contributed to our rescue! Our first featured company is Megan Gronlund Photography.
Megan began her photography career in 2010 after graduating from University of Minnesota Duluth. She specializes in weddings, engagements, senior photos, and family photos.

Megan has hosted two “Pittie and Me” photo sessions where she donated half of each sessions earnings to our rescue. The Pittie and Me session included at least 20 digital edited photos of you and your fur babies. Check out the images she did below & stay tuned for another upcoming Pittie and Me session hopefully in the near future!!! If you'd like a heads up before anyone else on the next Pittie & Me event, email info@megangronlund.com & she'll add you to the wait list!
