Juniper is enjoying her new bathrobe. Anyone want to Netflix & Chill?

Meet Juniper:

Meet Juniper!

4/5 months (as of 10/31/17)

I’m Juniper but I also answer to Junie and June. I am about 14 weeks old and still learning new things like potty outside. I love to wrestle with my foster sister and to snuggle with whoever is willing and available! I like toys and antlers and absolutely love people of all sizes! I don’t mind kitties and love other dogs. I love to wear my sweaters especially in the chilly weather since my hair is still coming in. My foster mom says I am a sassy pants and I even boss around the big dogs and I do need to work on my manners but foster mom says I’m a fast learner!

January Dog of the Month-
TOBY!

About

Meet Toby

Name: Toby

Nicknames: Tobers, Tobes, Camo, Oooo run run, cha cha run!

DOB: 5/18/2015

Approximate weight: 55-60 lbs

Color: Blonde brindle

What I know/What I'm working on: My foster mom and I are working on a lot of things! I knew how to sit coming into the rescue but not as diligently as many would desire so we're working on adding a little more precision as well as duration. We take a lot of short walks together working on leash manners and focus. I've picked up on the concept of down and we're now attempting to gain more commitment to the command as well as more duration. My foster mom is also attempting to help me gain an understanding and appreciation for 'relax' as a cue and easy default for me to go to in the future when I am out and about with my adoptive family. We are working on handling my feet some and looking to practice nail trims if I can stay committed to the process....those nail trims can be a little scary ya know! I also know how to be quiet in my crate but didn't like going into it with just command or without a treat to go after. I have started going into my crate with command and loving the treats that follow!

A little about me: I was initially found as a stray down in Texas and Minnesota Pit Bull Rescue saved me from losing my life! Once I arrived at my foster home it took me some time to truly become relaxed and show my real personality. I love to snuggle on the couch. I am currently with two other dogs and enjoy their company very much. I love to run around the yard and play but really love playing with just the toys and my foster mom. My foster mom has given me some funny nicknames because I've always had a funny habit of puppy zoomies ever since my arrival....it was the thing I did before even playing with toys here, well that and chewing on my nylabones and benebones. I've shown that I tend to get a little bored in my kennel and shouldn't have any blankets or soft toys in there as they may get me in trouble. I do get a little overzealous with toys I'm playing with so soft toys do require supervision. As I previously mentioned, I LOVE laying on the couch or in my kennel and chewing on nylabones and benebones!! I do snark a little and let the other dogs know that I don't like them crowding in on my space while I'm chewing on my bones so my free time with them is always supervised. My foster mom is teaching me to let go of things when I'm told, which is great because she almost always gives it back so I'm growing to like and trust it quite a bit! I'm a little too intrigued by the cats I'm staying with and their movements so it's probably best that I don't live with any in the future. I hope that you like what you read and will consider me for a member of your family!
Sincerely,
Toby

    Meet Huey

    Name: Huey

    Age: 7 Years

    Weight: 70 pounds

    Activity Level: Low/Moderate

Things I do in my free time: I love chewing on bones and taking naps!

Things I know: My name, Sit

Things I am learning: Come, Lay down (I'm getting close with this one!)

Kids: I get along with kinds great! Due to my size, I can bump into them from time to time so I'd do well with kids that are a little bit bigger than baby sized. Although, I'm a gentle giant so I'm sure I could learn to leave a bubble!

Dogs: I do well around medium to equal sized dogs, honestly I really don't seem to care about dogs too much, I'm kind of independent. Dogs 40+ pounds would be good for me.

Cats: I do not do well with cats or squirrels... small animals in general really.

Crate: I stay in a crate when my foster mom leaves.

    Additional Info from foster parent:
Huey is a sweetheart of a dog. Love, love, loves people. Loves to snuggle. He's good with his foster sister, they pretty much just hang out. He definitely prefers the company of humans. He is housebroken. But he is pretty much the happiest dog & his tail is always wagging. Huey loves lying around and chewing on Nylabones and Benebones.

Huey needs work on obedience and on his leash walking. As of right now he will take you wherever he wants to go. Huey will need an owner that is prepared and committed to training with him.
If you've followed Huey, you've probably noticed he disappeared for awhile. We were so excited that this handsome hunk found a home. Unfortunately, through no fault of his own, it sadly did not work out. This does happen from time to time. It definitely broke some hearts, including his would-be peoples. At MPBR we are determined to find a home that works for all of our dogs. We believe there is still a happy ending for Huey and look forward to his future! Could that be with you?

    Adoption fee- $0 (waived)
Huey was the Dog of the Month for June 2017. Since he is still available, his adoption fee remains waived.

    Meet Athena

11/09/17 – Hello Everyone! My name is Athena. I am 5 months old and weigh about 21 pounds. I am very affectionate. My foster mom says I am very good at giving hugs and kisses. I do like to snuggle as well. The picture in my bio shows my foster sister and I snuggling up to foster mom, to keep her warm.

I know my name, I know how to sit and stay. I am potty trained. I either run to the door or I start dancing in front of my foster mom to let her know that I need to go outside. I get along with other dogs of all shape and sizes. I stayed overnight with a temp foster who had cats and, while they are kinda goofy looking, I kept my distance. I don’t think they wanted to be my friends.

I get along with adults and kids. I really like when someone throws a ball and I get to chase after it. When I bring it back, I am always told what I great girl I am. I am always happy. I keep my crate clean all day while foster mom is at work. I go right into my crate when there is a treat waiting for me inside. Since I am a puppy I have lots and lots of energy. I love to run and play. I would love to be part of a family that would like to teach me new things (obedience training) and one that likes to snuggle too.

First step to adopting and meeting Athena is the application on our website: www.mnpitbull.com

Adoption fee $350 (waived if adopted in December)

    12.2.17 Jules says "Adopt Me!"
