2.16.18 Hello from Rosie!

My name is Rosie and I am 8 weeks old (as of 2/15/18). I am very active and love to play with my siblings but still need a lot of naps. I like to play with squeaky toys, balls and play tug. I am starting to know my name and am working very hard on potty training. I love to play with and be cuddled by the kids that visit my foster home. I live with cats & I don't mind them. I did well in the puppy pen with my siblings before we were split up on 2/11/18. Now I have a puppy crate all to myself and love it!
I am a sweet and friendly little girl that has beautiful brindle spots. I will make a great addition to any family in need of a cute little pupper. Of my siblings, I was usually the last one to go to sleep as I certainly did not want to miss out an any fun!

2.7.18 An Update from Hopper

To begin, my family had been asking about a dog for a few years. But with a big move, new house, cat, baby, work, etc., I just never felt it was the right time to introduce a new addition to our family. However, that didn't stop me from perusing through countless websites and Facebook pages of adoptable dogs trying to find the perfect addition. Call me a worrywart, but because we had cats and kids, it made me very nervous about rescuing any dog (not specifically the breed) because their past is unknown.

Then I saw Hopper.

I found Minnesota Pit Bull Rescue through a quick Google search and when I saw Hopper, I just knew. Most people talk about just knowing their significant other was supposed to be theirs; I knew Hopper was the one for our family and we the family for him. He is a pit bull/terrier mix and had been a 'freebie' for so long and I couldn't figure out why - his story and foster parents description of him was perfect, so what was the catch?

Hopper Bison is Home!
After inquiring about him, I received a quick email back to set up a house visit. The day came for the house visit, and I was a nervous wreck. Is my house clean enough? Are the toys picked up? Will our baby be okay? What if he hates the cat? Then I saw Hopper get out of the car, and I realized why he hadn't been adopted sooner. When he got out of the car - I noticed he hopped! Instead of walking, Hopper has a hop and uses both front legs to 'hop' forward. It is absolutely endearing and it was then I KNEW Hopper was coming home.

See, my husband and I are both adopted, and we both come with our own 'hop'. So adopting Hopper wasn't something we had to think about. That, and the home visit went great. He took treats nice, let me take the rawhide from him, didn't chase the cat, listened to commands, and loved on our baby girl and let her love on him.

Within the week, Hopper came home for good, and the rest they say is history.

Bison & his tiny human

Hopper, whom we now call Bison, was the missing piece to our family. He and our baby girl are two peas in a pod. They play together, nap together, and get into trouble together. He knows that baby = falling food, so he's often right under her high chair or following her around waiting for the goods to drop. She wakes up in the morning looking for Puppy, and even woofs for him (SO CUTE!).

I love walks!

He loves his stuffed toys, and sometimes his sisters baby stuffies, too. Going on walks are the best and we've learned to walk on the leash well. He LOVES car rides and gets to come to work with me quite a bit.

I work in the veterinary industry in an office setting and we get to bring our dogs to work. He loves to play with Roy (the white Great Pyrenees) and when playtime is over, it's nap time!

This is my friend, Roy!

Roy & I love to play
Nap Time

Bison is a gentle, loving lap dog who loves to give hugs and kisses, and if you let him, take over 3/4 of the bed at night. Adopting Bison and becoming part of the pit bull family was one of the easiest and most rewarding decisions we could have made. If you're considering adopting a dog, I encourage you to reach out to Minnesota Pit Bull Rescue and meet their fantastic rescues. They are ALL good dogs :)
A very special thank you to Bison's new mom, Stephanie for this great update!

2.7.18 Hello from Bane

Meet Bane

Name: Bane
Nicknames: Mr. Bane, Baney Bunny, Baney Rabbit, Raney Babbit
Age: 6 months (as of 1/17/18)
Activity Level: Medium
Size: currently about 30 lbs
Things I do in my free time: Chew on bones, throw my bird or raccoon plushie around, eating peanut butter out of Kongs
Things I know: My name, sit
Things I am learning: Down, shake
Kids: yes
Dogs: yes
Cats: yes
Car rides: great!

Additional Info from foster parent: Bane has been such a wonderful patient! He still has pins in his leg so unfortunately this little guy can’t run around and play nearly as much as he wants to, but he keeps himself occupied with Kongs or chew toys. He isn’t a huge fan of his kennel, but who would be after having to spend so much time in it! He is such a cuddler, he loves to be laying against someone when he has a chew or Kong. Bane definitely loves food, so he will be very easy to train. I can’t wait to see this pup fully healed, he will be so happy to finally run around! He is a total goofball and spends half the day with his tongue sticking out like in that first picture, It's so cute!
What we know: Bane was turned into the Dallas animal shelter with a severe leg injury. After consulting with veterinarians and a specialist, it was decided that his leg could be saved with extensive surgery.

2.1.18 February Dog of the Month- Lola! (Update: Adopted!)

Lola is the Dog of the Month!

What does that mean exactly?
Each month we pick one dog that has been with us a little longer than others to be featured as the "Dog of the Month" meaning their adoption fee is waived.
A mandatory training class (with a training facility of the adopter's choice) still required as well as normal reference checks and a home check.
If you’re interested in Lola, please visit mnpitbull.com for adoption information.

4 months old (9.1.17)

Hi, I’m Lola!
My favorite things to do are cuddle, chew on toys and play with other dogs.

I have great crate manners, I enjoy being in my crate to sleep or sometimes I’ll just hang out in there for a bit.

Right now I have two companions at my foster house. A boy and girl dog who are super fun, they introduced me to this thing called “cats”. I really like them too. The big cat will come rub up against me to say hi.

I’m potty trained and know how to tell everyone when I have to go. Sometimes, if I’ve been playing, I wait till the last minute and might have an oops. It doesn’t happen too often though.

I’m good at “sit”. I really like food so that helps me with training. I also wait and sit while my foster parents fill up all the dogs dishes until they say we can eat.

I’ve been told I have a lot of personality. I make funny faces, smile, & make little noises when I play- all to let you know how I feel. I have energy but I’m not wild. I play but I do enjoy having time with my humans.

I’m pretty good around kids or a group of people. My foster parents brought me to their holiday get-together and I met so many people. It was really fun. I was polite towards the new dogs I met and even left all the cats alone.

My foster parents say that I’m great because I have so much love to give and I’m super sweet. I’m well behaved and even let people clip my nails with zero fight. I’m a good girl!
If you think I sound great and are looking to adopt, please set up a time to meet me!

Visit Lola's bio here for more pictures.
