Cosmo (available for adoption) has been hanging out with Funtastic K9 Training, LLC over the holiday weekend. He's having a blast & even got to check out some agility equipment. See what they had to say about Cosmo below!
This is Cubbie & Cosmo.
Cosmo is 5 months and available for adoption through Minnesota Pit Bull Rescue he is such an awesome puppy! He would be great for a first time dog owner! He has an excellent temperament, very soft demeanor, zero whining or barking in crate, we taught him proper leash manners, structured basic lifestyle and currently learning sit and down with implemented “stay”. Super dog friendly, greets dogs with manners, does not like high energy dogs. He has medium food drive, low prey drive. He is like a “Cubbie” just a bigger dog!
We hope everyone had a safe holiday weekend. Sabrina needs an extra day to recover. Holiday weekend has her like: ___ Sabrina is available for adoption at mnpitbull.com. She is dog friendly & listens very well.
Minnesota Pit Bull Rescue is excited to partner with My Burger for a day full of fun. We’re even bringing our friends over at My Pit Bull is Family along for the ride!
9:30 - 11:00 am Pack Walk🐾 My Pit Bull is Family is no stranger to hosting a great pack walk! Join us in the morning & walk around Lake Calhoun before the fundraiser begins. Our training partners A New Leash Minneapolis will be joining us to answer any questions you have along the walk!
Well behaved dogs of all kinds and children are welcome to join us.
A few guidelines:
1. No face to face meeting. Always ask the dog's human if they can meet. Meetings should be made with loose leashes and calm humans. Dogs know when we're stressed, and they get stressed too.
2. NO RETRACTABLE LEASHES. If you show up with a retractable leash we will give you an alternative leash to use for the walk.
3. Yellow ribbons for our more anxious dog friends: Dogs known or believed to be anxious when around other dogs are to wear a yellow ribbon to let others know to respect your dog’s space.
4. All dogs should be up to date on shots: In the interest of good health for all the dogs attending our walks we ask that you do not join us unless your dog is up to date on their shots/vaccinations.
5. Pick up the poo: If you don't have poop bags we have them. Just see one of the My Pit Bull is Family volunteers for a bag.
6. No Smoking: Please do not smoke on our short walk. Please do so before or after.
7. Be sure to check in with a My Pit Bull is Family volunteer before you leave and grab a sticker!
11-4 pm Fundraiser 🐾 My Burger has been so kind to offer a portion of their sales made during 11 AM to 4 PM back to us. All you have to do is mention you’re there for the Pit Bull event & they’ll take care of the rest!
1:30-3 pm Meet Kenya’s puppies🐾 After grabbing a bite to eat, head out back and visit with Kenya’s adoptable puppies. This will be their first public debut!
My Burger has a great dog friendly patio. After the walk, join us for a bite to eat! Volunteers will be on site to hold your dogs leash while you order inside. We’ll be sure to tell them how great they are while you’re getting your food.
The first dog I ever truly fell in love with was my cousin's pittie pup over 10 years ago. She changed our lives. Ever since then I have had a sweet spot for these breeds. I started following the organization many years ago and Chad and I adopted our dog, Chico from MPBR in March 2016. Shortly after adopting him I joined the volunteer group, started helping with transports, got to know the other volunteers through events and training, and began fostering that fall. It has been one of the best decisions of my life! MPBR truly cares about the dogs in the program and ensures the dogs are set up for success when they go to their new homes.
How long have you been volunteering with our rescue?
Do you have any pets?
Yes, Chico - MPBR Alum

Where is your favorite dog friendly place to take your pooches?
Agility class, Home Depot, Crosslake and The Wharf in the summers
When not surrounded by dogs – what can you be found doing?
Not surrounded by dogs? That's just silly! Seems like the only time I'm not by dogs is when I'm working! (We've been known to sneak a few pups in though from time to time...)
Vinca, Ruby, Ryker, Nova, Charlie
Do you have a favorite memory with one of your fosters?
I don't think I can choose just one... Learning Ryker's leg wouldn't need surgery, getting weight on Nova and bringing her to the lake for the first time, Ruby loving up on the kids in her new family, Charlie becoming stronger each day, Vinca's snuggles, Quest's eyes, Datto's ears. They have all been so special.
Do you have a special ritual for your fosters?
We usually send one of their favorite toys with them to their new families and I have started gathering pictures for a collage to hang in my office or the dog room.
BarkBox is a subscription service that is awesome for you dogs! You get toys & treats delivered right to your door every month!
Each month one of our foster pawrents receives a BarkBoxas a thank you. This is our small way of showing appreciation for the dedication our volunteers have to this rescue. Minnesota Pit Bull Rescue is 100% volunteer based-no shelters here! Each dog we are able to save is because a foster is willing to open their home for us
He has come so far in his recovery and we are so impressed by him. When he came to MPBR, we were unsure how much mobility he would have in his back legs or what his future would look like. Things are definitely looking good for this sweet boy 💕Buddy is available for adoption at mnpitbull.com
