11.1.19 November Dog of the Month- Mauer!

It's November meaning there's a new Dog of the Month at MPBR!

What exactly does 'Dog of the Month' mean, though?
Every month, Minnesota Pit Bull Rescue recognizes one dog that has been in our program a little longer than others to be listed as the Dog of the Month. Not much is different other than their adoption fee is waived. That means the normal adoption process is still followed- references checks, a home check, and training at a facility of the adopters choosing is still required.

Meet Mauer

Name: Mauer
Nicknames: Mau, Shadow, Radar (his one ear is always straight up, occasionally both but mostly just the one)
Age: Born 5/23/19
Activity Level: medium
Things I do in my free time: follow foster mommy everywhere (shadow)
Things I know: sit, go potty, kennel, no/leave it
Things I am learning: come, stay, confidence
Kids: great
Dogs: great
Cats: great, very respectful of them and he gets so happy when he sees them, he just wags his tail so lovingly
Size: medium. We're starting to think there’s some small terrier in there somewhere...
Car rides: rides well but still pretty scared.

Additional Info from foster parent:
He has come a long way, from not knowing people and a home and being completely terrified, to absolutely loving people and very respectful of a home and fairly confident in the house, he still needs a lot of work being confident outside the home though, trying to work on that.
He seems like such an old soul, so very sweet and so far such a great puppy, doesn’t get into things and still really doesn’t play much, but likes to chew on his chewies and is really great about going to the door when he needs to potty. He’s only had a couple accidents since coming here and those were our own fault for missing his signals.
