4.30.18 Meet Cosmo!

*NEW TO RESCUE * NEW TO RESCUE * NEW TO RESCUE * NEW TO RESCUE *

My name is Cosmo and I am about weeks 15 weeks old (as of 4/29/18). I am very active and love to play with my foster siblings. I am so happy it is warmer now because my favorite playtime is outside. I like to play with squeaky toys, balls, stuffies and pretty much any toy we have. I am starting to know my name and am working very hard on potty training and doing quite well. I know to go to the door when I need to go out so as long as my foster mom is paying attention all is good. I like kids and all people. I love to snuggle with my foster mom as closely as I can. I am able to be in my crate during the day while my foster mom is at work. I am working on some obedience stuff like sit and down and walking on leash. I will make a great addition to the family that is right for me. Could it be you?

4.26.18 Featured Foster- April Edition

Meet Ann!

Nova
Who was your first foster?
Nova
Opal

Who is your current foster?
Opal

Why did you start volunteering?
Nick and I adopted our own pup, Benny, from MPBR in May of 2015. We really appreciated the time and care they spent in finding the right home for the right dog.  They sent out the call that they were looking for people to foster.  We had an overnight trial run with a dog, and since then we’ve been helping out where we can!

How long have you been volunteering with our rescue?
2 years

Benny

Do you have any pets?
Benny and Peach (the cat)

Peaches
Where is your favorite dog friendly place to take your pooches?
Rosedale Mall on Sunday mornings and any dog-friendly brewery in the area!  Love to show off great manners!

When not surrounded by dogs – what can you be found doing?
Playing video games, reading, or knitting. (Usually still surrounded by at least one dog.)

Do you have a favorite memory with one of your fosters?
Too many to count!  The one that first popped in to my head is when our first foster Nova found her forever home.  I was with her at an adoption event at For Pet’s Sake up in Blaine.  There were a number of people coming over and meeting her, no big deal.  It wasn’t until she met James that she just completely hammed it up, rolling over on his lap until he rubbed her belly!  That's when I knew she found the right fit!

Do you have a special ritual for your fosters?
I’m thinking of making a Wall of Fame with pictures of all the dogs that come visit and get adopted!
................................................................................................................................................................

BarkBox is a subscription service that is awesome for you dogs! You get toys & treats delivered right to your door every month!

Each month one of our foster pawrents receives a BarkBox as a thank you. This is our small way of showing appreciation for the dedication our volunteers have to this rescue. Minnesota Pit Bull Rescue is 100% volunteer based-no shelters here! Each dog we are able to save is because a foster is willing to open their home for us

4.25.18 Meet Boba Fett (Update: Adopted)

* New to Rescue * New to Rescue * New to Rescue *

Nicknames: Boba, Bubba, Bubs

Age: 4 months (as of 4/13/18)

Activity Level: hyper & playful, as I am still a puppy.

Things I do in my free time: I love snuggles after play time, and give lots of kisses. I like to play with my sister and foster sisters. We play tug-o-war and keep away. I can’t get enough of cow hooves. I can chew those for hours...

Things I know: I’m getting really good at “Sit”, & I come every time my foster mom calls for me. I know what “no” means too.

Things I am learning: kennel and I will wait patiently for my food. I also have not had an accident in the house. *paws crossed*

Kids: I haven’t met any yet, but so far I love everybody.

Dogs: I get along with other dogs both puppies and adults.

Cats: Unknown

Size: I am the biggest of my siblings. I’ll probably be around 50lbs. when I get bigger.

Car rides: I eased my brother & sister when we went for a ride to our Foster Mommy’s. They were scared but it just made me a bit sleepy.

Additional Info from foster parent: Boba aims to please and has been very good in his kennel. He is a quick learner and is easily motivated by food. He is a little talkative during play time but quiet as a peep during nap time.

Dogs: Does well with adult dogs and other puppies

Additional Info from foster parent: Datto is a very sweet girl. She is petite and playful and loves to follow you everywhere you go. She has mastered sit with the head tilt and that look she gives you with her adorable ears will make your heart melt. She loves receiving attention from everyone she meets. She sleeps well in her crate overnight without hardly any peeps and can make it through the day/night with no accidents. She’s even good at sitting in the crate watching her foster brother and agility classmates run their courses and doesn’t even cry about not getting a turn. Overall, she is a pretty quiet girl without much bark unless it’s play time then a few might sneak out with a little bit of sassiness. However, she is more than happy to play for a bit then snuggle up into you and sleep.
