Charlie

Why did you start volunteering?
We wanted to help change the perception of Staffies. We fell in love with bully breeds while living in an apartment that didn't accept dogs, so we bought a house. We started fostering 3 months after our closing date & haven't taken a break since. We love fostering <3

How long have you been volunteering with our rescue?
1 year as of October 2017

Do you have any pets?
Yes, our foster fail, Hatter & 3 beautiful cats.

Hatter

Where is your favorite dog friendly place to take your pooches?
We like to visit Grandma in the nursing home up in Duluth.

When not surrounded by dogs – what can you be found doing?
Relaxing in the basement with our cats while watching Netflix.

Do you have a favorite memory with one of your fosters?
Porter was sleeping on our bed once and one of our cats jumped into the bed with him & startled him so bad he yelped :D

Do you have a special ritual for your fosters?
Every time we have a foster that gets adopted, we celebrate by having Pizza Luce.

Dooley
Who was your first foster?
Dooley

Who is your current foster?
Toby

Why did you start volunteering?
I started fostering for the rescue because I wanted to help with a pit bull rescue. In my research, I found that Minnesota Pit Bull Rescue's needs and requirements fit my lifestyle/schedule the best. I also found that I agreed with and appreciated their adoption process requirements (especially when it comes to the training aspect). I really respected (and still do!) what the rescue stands for.

How long have you been volunteering with our rescue?
I've been with the rescue for a little over six years.

Do you have any pets?
I have two cats (both adopted) and two dogs (both foster fails-one through MPBR)

Where is your favorite dog friendly place to take your pooches?
It's a lame answer but my favorite place to take my dogs would probably have to be places like the pet stores Chuck & Don's, For Pet's Sake, etc. Mostly because I love shopping for them & it's even better when they can help!

When not surrounded by dogs, what can you be found doing?
When I'm not surrounded by dogs (which isn't often) you can find me hanging out with friends/family or watching my niece & nephew's sporting events.

Do you have a favorite memory with one of your fosters?
Maud

It's really hard to pick just one... the first time I got Maud to lay down in my many attempts to train the command, Eve's adoption, seeing the skin of fosters that have mange get better, Cogburn pulling through his pneumonia, finally seeing Simon find his forever... really the adoption of every foster that I have had or gotten the pleasure to know through rescue! Oh, and there's always the updates of the adopted dogs, that's pretty great too!
