6.24.21 Cereal says Adopt Me!

Cereal is the sweetest boy! He loves to snuggle, give kisses, and follow you around the house. He's food motivated, is very smart, a good listener, and quick learner. Very well behaved. He would do great in a home with kids he could play with and/or another pup sibling or two!
Learn more about Cereal here (if you no longer see him posted, his adoption is pending).

6.17.21Volunteer Highlight - Meet Katie

- Q1 Volunteer: Meet Katie-

How did you find out about Minnesota Pit Bull Rescue?

I discovered MN Pit Bull Rescue through our vet, Blackberry! They had written on the board, "Welcome the snack pack!" It made me laugh so I had to ask!

Why did you start volunteering for MPBR?

Once our Lucy passed I really wanted to be an ambassador for the breed! Being our vet worked so closely with the organization I knew it had to be incredible! I wanted to help give back and find furever homes for these incredible dogs!

How long have you volunteered with MPBR?

Since this entire last year and then some has been a blur, I believe I did my volunteer training in January. I jumped right in to reference calls, I sure enjoy listening to people share about their friends and loved ones.

What was the last thing you volunteered for?

My first and most recent volunteer event was at Nokomis Tattoo selling merch! Seth was so handsome and of course, the puppy breath was the best!

Do you have any pets of your own?
Joie Lee

We adopted Joie Lee on October 28th. Known as Jolee, JoJo, Joey, Noodle, Shmeagle and other terms of endearment! 😀 We have a kitty named Delilah and of course, we can't forget Sonic the Hamster.

How would you say your pets describe you?

I would say Jojo would describe our family (I have a 9 year old and a 4 year old son) as, crazy with lots of energy which she loves! Adventurous, loves to explore, but we also give excellent cuddles. We laugh so hard with her, she's so silly!

Where's your favorite dog friendly place to take your dogs?

We have a cabin on an island which we call, "dog island!" So many pups running free together  on a 22 acre island. Jolee has already found her best buddy Chase and is so patient with the new puppy Finn. It's so fun to watch them all play together!

When you're not surrounded by dogs, what can you be found doing?

Well, I'm pretty much always with Jojo but when mom can get away I love attending concerts (they're coming back, woohoo!), being on the water at our cabin with my boys, practicing my ukulele and having happy hour on a patio with my besties!

Do you have a favorite memory of something that happened while you were volunteering?

I haven't had many opportunities to volunteer for events but I LOOOOOOVE events! I actually am Event Planner/Catering Director so it's in my blood. I couldn't stop smiling at the Nokomis event. Such a wonderful opportunity to fill your heart up with love during these crazy times!

Do you have any advice for current or future volunteers?

Do your best to dive in! Life can get crazy but working with this organization is so fulfilling. Even if it is assisting with a few reference calls, a transport, anything helps!

...........................................................................................................................................................

We are 100% volunteer based and we couldn’t do this without each and every one of our members

Each month an active volunteer is featured on our website & receives a gift (or gift card) as a thank you. This is just a small way for us to show our appreciation for the dedication our volunteers have for this rescue.

Interested in volunteering? Check out some info here

6.2.21 June Dog of the Month - Chase

It’s June which means we have a new Dog of the Month, Chase!

Chase is approximately 1 year old. He is house & kennel trained.

How I am with kids: Unsure but probably great! I am pretty bouncy so older kids that I can’t knock over would be best.

How I am with dogs: I love dogs. I play well with them and have no issues sharing my toys. I would pair well with a submissive, low key dog. I tend to be high energy so someone to even me out would be best.

How I am with cats: Unsure.

My current size: I am around 40 lbs. currently. We do not know my adult size as we do not know my parents.

Find more information & photos of Chase here

Chase’s adoption fee is waived if an application is received this month!
Let’s find this boy the perfect home

Head to www.mnpitbull.com for adoption information & fill out an application if you'd like to meet him one on one.

6.1.21 Congratulations, May Adoptions!

Congratulations to these 20 dogs who found their homes in May!

5.31.21 Supervisor Seth

Happy Memorial Day from our Dog of the Month, Seth!
Sethifer has switched from the landscaping crew to the paint crew! He is a jack of all trades! The biggest complaint from co-workers is his tail wagging in the wet paint. JK - he actually spends his time resting in the crate while we paint. I’m kind of jealous of his job 😒😂
This is a reminder that his adoption fee is waived through the month of May (today is the last day 😯). You can find more information on Seth and the adoption process/application at www.mnpitbull.com.

5.29.21 Squidward's Weekend

💙 Squidward is enjoying the memorial weekend. This boy is 8 years young and still looking for his forever home. Don’t think that age slows this boy down. He is spunky, playful and plenty of youthful energy.
He is a snuggly boy that loves toys and affection. He would do best with a fenced yard but doesn’t require one with the right family that can work with him on his leash walking. He doesn’t bark so a home with shared walls would be fine for him. He’s an amazing dog who is looking forward to a fresh start.
If you’re interested in meeting Squidward, visit www.mnpitbull.com 🐾

5.28.21 Adventures with Seth

-Adventures with Sethifer-
PS. This is your reminder that he is our Dog of the Month for May & May is almost over!
A word from his Foster: Seth got to get a little taste of lake life. He was quite unsure of the water at first but we made some progress and he got a little more comfortable as time went on. We started in the shallow stuff, just walking, and then brought him slightly deeper to swim, but he just kept heading back to shore. So thankful he loves his crate and travels like an angel in it 🙌
Learn more about Seth, our adoption process, and access the online application at www.mnpitbull.com 🐾

5.22.21 Supervisor Seth

Supervisor Seth here checking in and making sure that yard work gets done correctly. Yep, it looks good. Your reward is playing with me!

Adoptable at www.mnpitbull.com 🐾

5.21.21 Life with Laguna

An update from Laguna’s foster:
Laguna is working on not being scared of her own shadow, and noises, and us, and things falling, and and well, life is scary for Gu. 🤣🥴 After her first training session today, this happened and it’s 🙌🤩 Our 4.5 year old is definitely the scariest of the 2 leggers so this felt huge.
Laguna is available for adoption but as you can see, she’ll need a strong leader who will help her succeed in life by building trust and gaining confidence, just like her foster home is doing. If you’re interested in knowing more or would like to meet Laguna, please read over our adoption information and apply at www.mnpitbull.com.
