Meet Mike!
How did you find out about Minnesota Pit Bull Rescue?
I found out about the rescue from Ashley, when Oliver (Derby) was adopted.
Why did you decide to volunteer for MPBR?
Shortly after the adoption of Oliver I saw how much the rescue did for fur babies & Ashley convinced me to help out.
How long have you been volunteering with the rescue?
About 4+ years.
What was the last thing you volunteered for?
The last thing I volunteered for was the transport of Pecan to her Furever home.

Do you have any pets of your own?
I have Zero (FKA Shock) Rukus (AKA Kittydog) and Marley (Mr Furrypants)
How would your pets describe you?
A night owl cuddler & probably a little crazy!
Where's your favorite dog-friendly place to bring your dog?
Zero & I really like bike rides & patios.
When you're not surrounded by dogs, what can you be found doing?
I was a bit of a workaholic before this pandemic. Now, I work on the house mostly and lots of bike rides.
Do you have a favorite memory that happened while you were volunteering?
I don't really have a favorite memory, but my favorite part of volunteering has been seeing how people respond to their new family member coming home to complete their families. "I'm not crying, you're crying!"
Do you have any advice for current or future volunteers?
Thank you to all the volunteers, we are what makes what this rescue does possible. Every little task, no matter how small or big (fostering, reference checks, handling at events, transports, donating time or money and even just sharing on social media) are all integral parts of this machine continuing to do what it does.
I'd like to thank everyone that helps out, but specifically Laura (our President) for making this all happen, Ashley for showing me the importance of helping out, finally Natalie and Chad for the numerous things that you guys do!
Each month an active volunteer is featured on our website & receives a gift (or gift card) as a thank you. This is just a small way for us to show our appreciation for the dedication our volunteers have for this rescue. We are 100% volunteer based and we couldn’t do this without each and every one of our members ♥️
