We want to sincerely THANK EVERYONE who has shared her post, applied to Adopt/Foster, and tried to help Kaisa in any way.
We try to avoid posting urgent needs, and we don’t wish to villainize anyone in the process. Given the most up-to-date information we have received on Kaisa, we realized it would not be in her best interest, or the community’s, to move her from her existing home to a new one without a more thorough and impartial evaluation. Therefore, we have reached out to a trainer we have worked with before and secured her a spot for more assessment and training that will hopefully allow her to transition to a new home in the future.
We anticipate at least a 12 week training program for her and as you can imagine, that comes with a price tag. Our hearts were lifted by all your wishes to help Kaisa, and it is our hope that some of you can help us cover Kaisa’s training and care over the coming weeks. If you are able, please visit here
Thank you for everyone's help in saving Kaisa! We will continue to keep everyone updating with her progress in the coming weeks.

Original Post:
It is very rare that MPBR makes an urgent plea for a dog. Under normal circumstances, we have plenty of time to find a home for our dogs through our foster program. Unfortunately, this is not the case which is why we’re making a heavyhearted post in hopes that a potential home can be found for Kaisa. We have until Wednesday night (5/20) to find placement for her. This is our plea to our approved fosters and potential adopters.
Kaisa was born on June 20, 2014. She has been with her adoptive family for her whole life but has been available for adoption through our rescue for the last 2 years in hopes of re-homing her. We have featured her as our Dog of the Month several times & her adoption fee will remained waived.
She gets along with the other resident dog as he has a very calm demeanor. She would thrive in a home as the only dog or with another dog who has a similar (calm) personality. A two-week shut down would be needed in order to integrate her into a home with another dog. No felines, please.
This girl loves attention from humans. She currently lives with little ones ranging in ages from infant to 8 years old and gets along great with them. She would love a human that is home a lot as Kaisa has separation anxiety if she is left without someone home.
She knows basic obedience but does need guidance and additional training when it comes to walking nicely on a leash as well as help with her recalls (coming when called). She knows sit & lay down. She is also a master at waiting for her food until her parents tell her it’s ok to eat.
Kaisa has springs in her feet. She yearns for adventure in the great outdoors but will always need to be leashed. This kangaroo has no issues clearing a 6-foot fence.
If your home sounds like it could work for this beautiful girl, please fill out an adoption application at www.mnpitbull.com and #helpkaisafindherhome If you're an approved foster and willing to foster long term, please see the post in our Volunteer Group.
