12.28.20 New to MPBR- Meet Nyla

 

New to MPBR, meet Nyla!

Hello, my name is Nyla!

I am originally from Tennessee and arrived in Minnesota a few weeks ago. I am 6-7 months old and weigh about 40lbs. I have spurts of energy but also love my lazy nap time. I enjoy playing with my foster canine brothers, chewing on toys, and playing with the jolly ball outside. I enjoy zooming around the back yard and am doing well at potty training.

I LOVE food and am working on good puppy manners. I am still not sure about the crate…my foster parents are working with me on this. I am very smart and have learned how to sit and when to come.

Things I am working on are not jumping up (down command) and to not nibble on fingers. I have not met any kiddos or cats yet. I am a good girl in the car and warmed up fast to my foster canine brothers. I LOVE my humans and want to be with them all the time. I get a little nervous when my humans are not around, so I would love a family that can spend lots of time with me but also work on building my confidence and help me to be independent!

Indy has a very special announcement to make, she found her forever home! We are so happy she will not be spending the holidays in a shelter this year

November 2020 Foster of the Month- 

Meet Allison!

Where are you from and what do you do for a living?

I grew up in Lakeville, MN and live in Faribault, MN. I am a self-employed dog trainer and also work once a week at a veterinary clinic as an assistant and receptionist.

There are a lot of great rescues in MN, why did you start volunteering specifically for MPBR?

We had a great experience adopting our puppy from MPBR and love the idea of fostering Pit Bulls. They are our favorite breed type!

When your friends/family find out you volunteer with a pit bull rescue, what do they say or ask?

My whole life is about dogs and I'm obsessed with Pit Bulls, so they aren't surprised.

How long have you been fostering with the rescue?

We've volunteered with MPBR less than a month. I volunteered with a different local rescue for almost five years previously.

12.15.20 New to MPBR- Meet Laken

 

It's official, Laken is on the search for his forever home!

Sure, he's not a pittie but let's show this Rottweiler some love He's silly and handsome but he'll need structure and an owner who will continue to work with him to keep him on his best behavior.

Laken is House-Trained & Kennel-Trained. He prefers a home without children or felines. Laken can be in a home with other dogs but this will be on a case by case basis. You see, this boy has no social skills whatsoever. He thinks every dog needs to be his BFF and does not read canine queues. We're not going to sugarcoat it, he's rude.

It might take us awhile to find this boy a knowledgeable, experienced owner but that hasn't stopped us before! Who knows, we might be pleasantly surprised
