For today’s Bark Out I’m going to be discussing
something that is so necessary in the rescue world…training. Like it is important
to find a reputable rescue for adoption, it is just as important to find a professional
trainer that you can bring your dog to, which leads me to AQK9.
Sally, MPBR Alumni |
One of my first experiences after joining
the rescue many years ago was seeing the owner of AQK9, Tiffany, preforming a
demonstration at the MN State Fair with her pittie, Sally, whom she adopted
through our rescue. Seeing how well-behaved both Sally and her Rottweiler, Kilo,
were off leash in front of a large crowd inspired me to investigate the pit
bull type breed further. After attending many classes from Tiff, I can’t think
of a better investment for my furry family members. She offers a large variety
of classes and seminars on her site. There’s everything from raw feeding to
obedience and rally, to in-home training.
Minnesota Pit Bull Rescue
believes it is very important to attend at least basic obedience with your dog.
This will form and strengthen the bond that you have with your dog and ultimately
create a great ambassador for the breed which is why training is a requirement for
adopting from us. We have a short list of recommended trainers on our website
and AQK9 is definitely on that list. I couldn’t recommend a better place to
train at!
Do you have a love for
pitties or support the breed in some way? We'd love to give you your very own
Bark Out. Please email our Event/Social Media Coordinator at ashley@mnpitbull.com.
