Our next adoption event is going to be a blast! The ‘Annie litter’ will be making their debut and they can’t wait to meet you!

CPV (Parvo) is highly contagious and is spread from dog to dog by direct or indirect contact with their feces. Vaccines can prevent this infection, but mortality can reach 91% in untreated cases. Topanga (and her brother, Cory) were some of the lucky ones 💚

9.16.19 Business Bark Out- Downtown Dogs

For today’s business Bark Out we’re featuring Downtown Dogs, Dog Boarding and Daycare! Downtown Dogs is located just outside of downtown Minneapolis. They have convenient hours Monday through Friday from 6:45 A.M to 9 P.M & 8 A.M to 9 P.M Saturday and Sunday. It includes a massive playroom indoors and a space outdoors for your furry family member, of which both are monitored by knowledgeable staff. They also have individual kennel space for dogs who need their own quiet time.

Downtown dogs is very rescue friendly- they even foster dogs themselves, usually around 100 dogs a year! They donate leftover food and a portion of their profits to local rescues. Downtown Dogs helps MPBR with a safe place to keep our pups when we can’t find a foster right away, and I can’t say enough about how good they treat them! If you’re ever looking for a daycare or a place to board your dog, please give Downtown Dogs Boarding and Daycare a try!

Our first foster, who was supposed to be a temporary foster, was for a dog named Clover. We decided to add her to our pack and she is now named Moose :D

Why did you start volunteering for Minnesota Pit Bull Rescue?

My family and I started volunteering for MPBR after we fell in love with this very misunderstood breed. MPBR exhibits true values and strong principles for all the pups it saves and we are honored to be a part of it.

How long have you been volunteering with Minnesota Pit Bull Rescue?

We are newbies :D We are in our first year with the rescue.

Do you have any pets?

We now have 2 dogs, Shilah who is a 13 year old beagle/bassett and Moose who is an 8 month pittie mix. We also have a 6 year old cat, Lola.

Where is your favorite dog friendly place to take your doggo?

We love bringing our pups on car rides and up to our neighborhood park.

Do you have a favorite memory with one of your fosters? 

My favorite memory with Babo was waking up with him before my girls got up and enjoying "alone" time outside drinking coffee and playing in the yard.
