Here's a kicker: Three out of every four adoption applications we receive come from homes who want 'dog park dogs.' The demand for dog social dogs is so big that some of our local shelters make life/death decisions based solely on a dog's performance in play groups. Equally, dogs who are returned to shelters after getting into spats with other dogs are typically euthanized.
What are your thoughts? Are we asking too much of dogs?
