2.13.19 Volunteer of the Month- Mark!

Meet Mark!

How did you find out about Minnesota Pit Bull Rescue?

I was specifically looking to adopt a pittie and I found MPBR online.  I went to a puppy meet n’ greet at Rock Bottom Brewery downtown.

Why did you decide to start volunteering for MPBR?

Knowing MN Pitbull Rescue was all volunteer based I wanted to volunteer as way to give back to the organization that gave us our first puppy.  We are not currently able to foster so volunteering is the next best thing!!

How long have you volunteered for the rescue?

It'll be six years in June.

Do you have any pets?

We got our pupper, Seamus from the rescue and some cats.

Where's your favorite dog friendly place to take your pup?

Love to take Seamus for a walk around Lake Harriet.  There’s a secret spot where dogs can go swimming and he LOVES it.  Also like walking the trails at Minnehaha Falls.  After a nice long walk he likes to rest in the shade of the trees, eat lunch and watch the kids play.

When not surrounded by dogs – what can you be found doing?

We bought a fixer upper home that we’ve been working on.  We love going to sporting events when my teams are in town, theater, and checking out new places to to eat.

Mark helps with A LOT of puppy transports!
Do you have a favorite memory that happened while you were volunteering?

My favorite memories are when we break out the puppy kissing booth.  It’s great to see people so happy meeting the little ones.  Especially the kids. I also, love to bring pups to the house for overnight stays and they can run around the yard playing with Seamus.  He loves having someone to play with!!!

Do you have any advice for current or future volunteers?

Every little bit helps!!!  Something as simple as picking up clothes or medicine for the dogs may not be the most fun, but it really means a lot to the fosters.  Plus, not being from here, I get to learn where places are like Crystal, Fridley, Woodbury and Inver Grove Heights!!!

................................................................................................................................................................

Each month one of our foster pawrents receives a gift card as a thank you. This is our small way of showing appreciation for the dedication our volunteers have to this rescue. Minnesota Pit Bull Rescue is 100% volunteer based- no shelters here! Each dog we are able to save is because a foster is willing to open their home for us  Interested in volunteering?
