3.27.18 Featured Foster- March Edition

Meet Sara!

Merrick & Leia

Who was your first foster?
Our first foster was Leia.

Pinky & Frida
Who is your current foster?
Frida

Why did you start volunteering?
We were inspired by our dog, Merrick, who we adopted through MPBR. He came (to the rescue) with issues and his foster did an amazing job with him. The rescue was very honest about what work needed to be done and it really set us up to be successful dog parents. We’ve learned so much that we want to continue working with new dogs and setting them up for success. Fostering is amazing.

How long have you been volunteering with our rescue?
2 years
Do you have any pets?
Dogs – Merrick & Pinky (foster fail) Cats- Bagheera and Rajah… plus 5 chickens

Where is your favorite dog friendly place to take your pooches?
Softball games, family gatherings
When not surrounded by dogs – what can you be found doing?
Right now we are focused on planning our wedding, besides that we keep low key and watch Netflix.
Do you have a favorite memory with one of your fosters?
The moment that our foster trusts us. We can just see them relax and open up.

BarkBox is a subscription service that is awesome for you dogs! You get toys & treats delivered right to your door every month!

Each month one of our foster pawrents receives a BarkBox as a thank you. This is our small way of showing appreciation for the dedication our volunteers have to this rescue. Minnesota Pit Bull Rescue is 100% volunteer based-no shelters here! Each dog we are able to save is because a foster is willing to open their home for us

  1. Sara was the gal that came to do our home inspection before we were given the 'all-clear' to bring Cooper home with us. I was a nervous wreck, I wanted everything to be 'just right' and because the food/water bowls hadn't yet been delivered, I was so afraid I would be considered not a good fit/ill prepared. Hindsight is 20/20 and I can clearly see now that I was being silly. She saw through all of that and felt Cooper would be a perfect fit for us- and she was 100% right! Since then, she's helped me with overnight stays so as to avoid bringing Coop in to be boarded(my biggest nightmare/last resort for sure). Cooper had an amazing time with her and her pups and would 10/10 recommend her to anyone looking for sleepover options! :) Thank you Sara!!
