Sometimes, in rescue (as in life), events don’t unfold as we hope or intend. This past week has been a rough one and a few days ago Chase crossed the rainbow bridge. Following what seemed a pretty routine heart worm treatment last Friday, he developed a rare and unexpected complication. We don’t often talk about the more difficult journeys, but we wanted to share sweet Chase with everyone.
We also want to express our deep condolences and heartfelt gratitude to his foster, Sophie, and also her family and fellow fosters within the rescue, Sarah and Chris, who spent time and helped with Chase in the days following his treatment. So much love and care was poured into this guy, all deserved, and we only wish he were able to stay and continue to get all the pets, love, training, and adventures we desire for all our dogs.
In honor of Chase, give your dog an extra hug, throw the tennis ball one extra time, or maybe even give them one more treat today.
